(Nature Inspired Reconnaissance Vehicle)

The NIRV line of UAVs are revolutionary designs developed by Theiss Aviation, Inc. for extended reconnaissance operations where a conventional UAV could not operate due to visual and/or audible detection. The craft are designed to visually mimic soaring birds, which allows operations over populated areas without drawing unnecessary attention. The patent pending NIRV designs utilize an efficient wing design to allow soaring with minimal or no propulsion.

Theiss Aviation began development of the NIRV Systems in 2006, and is continuing to expand the concept and design base. The current line of NIRV designs include the Vulture, Seagull, and Hawk. As shown, these craft are designed to visually mimic their live counterparts, which allows operations over populated areas without visual detection.
